What is Minesweeper?
Minesweeper is a logic puzzle where you reveal safe cells while avoiding hidden mines. Each number reveals how many mines are touching that square.
How to play
Left-click to reveal a cell, right-click or tap with flag mode enabled to place a flag, and use the numbers to reason about nearby mines. Clear every safe square to win.
Game rules
- The first click is always safe.
- Flags mark suspected mines.
- Empty cells reveal surrounding safe areas automatically.
- Reveal every non-mine cell to win.
Difficulty levels
- Beginner: 9×9 grid with 10 mines.
- Intermediate: 16×16 grid with 40 mines.
- Expert: 30×16 grid with 99 mines.
- Custom: choose your own rows, columns, and mine count.
Beginner tips
Start with the edges and look for clusters of numbers. Use flags to track likely mines while you reveal safe areas one step at a time.

All gameplay, statistics, and saved progress are stored only in your browser using LocalStorage. No data is uploaded to any server.
How do I place a flag?
Right-click a hidden cell to place or remove a flag. On touch screens, enable Flag Mode and tap a cell to mark it.
Can I resume after refreshing?
Yes. The current board, timer, difficulty, and statistics are saved locally and restored automatically on refresh.
What is the best way to learn?
Start with Beginner mode, practice with the hint feature, and gradually move to Intermediate and Expert.
